After school sport

Maidstone Intermediate offers many sporting opportunities for students wanting to get involved in sports outside school hours – playing against different schools from the Hutt Valley region. The list below is all of the sports we currently have teams for. If new leagues open up for sports we will always try and put a team in.
- Basketball (Term 2 & 3)
- Netball (Term 2 & 3)
- Touch Rugby (Term 1 & 4)
- Ki o Rahi (Term 1 & 4)
- Flippaball (Term 3)
- Floorball (All year)
Community Sports Day
Term 2 sees Maidstone Intermediate open its doors to all Year 6 students from the contributing schools. Our students organise and facilitate a day of sports for the Year 6 students. The students referee games, and lead the groups around the activities. This is a great day where students reconnect with their previous school and allow the incoming Year 6 students to see what Maidstone Intermediate is all about.
Community Rugby Game
To celebrate the end of each year the Maidstone 1st XV play a Maidstone Community team. The Maidstone Community team is made up of Maidstone staff, parents, and those who help out around the school by running many different programmes. This is always an awesome day with lots of fun and outstanding rugby as classes come out and enjoy watching the game.
Saturday Netball
Calling all players, coaches, umpires, and managers: Welcome to the 2022 netball season.
We are excited to have the planning underway for this season. We are very lucky to have Lisa Webling coordinating netball this year; supported by other members of our community.
Each team is required to supply a coach, manager, and umpire. Please get in touch with Lisa if you are keen to be involved, or have any questions: lisajwebling@gmail.com or 027 251 4203.
Once they have been created, team games will be available on the Hutt Valley Netball website.
