The year 7 programme involves providing students with valuable culinary skills while promoting a healthy lifestyle. These classes aim to inspire a love for cooking and appreciation for fresh, nutritious foods. By incorporating hands-on activities, such as preparing simple recipes, students are empowered to become more independent in the kitchen, fostering a lifelong skill set that they can carry with them.

In Year 8, ākonga harness the skills learned previously to embark on a culinary journey, exploring the flavors of various countries and cultures. Armed with their knowledge of food hygiene, cooking techniques, and nutrition, ākonga are equipped to undertake the exciting challenge of creating a variety of dishes from around the world. Ākonga apply their understanding of ingredients and cooking methods to bring these authentic dishes to life.
