Our Counsellor - Hannah Wright
How can we help?Kia ora,
It is a privilege for me to be able to offer a safe, respectful, non-judgemental, and confidential space that is available to ākonga, whānau, and staff.
My passion to be a counsellor came about through years of being involved with youth in various capacities. I enjoy building relationships and trust with tamariki, as well as enabling them to have a voice, and working in an inclusive way. It is important to me that tamariki are equipped with the tools they need to navigate life’s challenges. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Narrative Therapy.
I enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing video games, music (especially live), and watching Formula One and Basketball.
I see counselling as a space to talk through struggles, work towards goals, and learn tools and strategies to help us face challenges. It is a place where students can feel heard and seen, and worked with in a strength-based and empowering environment.
If you would like to put a referral through, set up a meeting, or contact me, feel free to email me at hannah.wright@maidstone.school.nz. You can also contact your child’s kaiako about putting through a referral to see me. In order for me to see your tamaiti, a signed consent form will be required which will be sent out in an email or given to a ākonga to take home.
