Kaupapa Mātanga

STEAM

STEAM is an approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding ākonga inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. In 2024 ākonga will be taking on authentic, real world problems around the environment & our local histories. Ākonga will have the opportunity to experiment and test with robotics, electronics, game design and other digital technologies.

In year 7 ākonga focus on a taster of engineering problems, designing their own game, programming, 3-d modelling & digital technologies.

In year 8 ākonga will be given the opportunity to explore their own interests and inquiries within the STEAM subjects, all with the goal of getting ākonga interested and excited in STEAM and creating solutions for the future.
